Getting Started
What started as something small, has turned into something much bigger. “In 2019, I was lucky enough to receive the Wallowa County Stockgrowers Scholarship.” states Bailey. “This scholarship allowed me to purchase my first heifer calf, Melody. Once I got her, I was hooked.” A little later down the road, another heifer, Dixie, was acquired. “I had my own mini rainbow herd of a ½ Black Angus, ½ Charolais cow [Melody] and one ¾ British White and ¼ Black Angus cow [Dixie]. My original goal and plan was to continue breeding these two cows to produce mellow, well built animals for 4-H and FFA kids to show as market projects. I never expected the operation to grow this much.”
